This is an uncertain and frightening time for everyone. Places have gone on 'lockdown', Irish businesses have had to close their doors and people have been asked to stay at home. It is a time where many people are afraid and worried about their health, that of others and also that of their business.
But it is also a time where there has been great strength and ingenuity in Irish business and the country as a whole. People are trying new things and getting creative in how they live their lives in a new kind of 'normal'. So we've looked at some of the things businesses might be able to do in terms of marketing during this time.
This may not be possible for all types of business but it could be an opportunity for many that have thought about setting up their online operations but have been putting it off. It's a great time to set up a website and showcase your products and set up an online store if possible. There are rules that need to be adhered to for online delivery but we have seen many businesses go online in the last couple of weeks.
Build your online community
We are a social nation and not being able to have a chat in our local shops is difficult but now could be the best time to build your online community on platforms like Facebook, Instagram or Linkedin. Work on your social platforms and your content, engage with your audience and share any updates and news that you have there - it's one of the best ways to keep in touch with your customers at this time. It might also be a good time to look at your online newsletter, either starting one or getting one up and running again.
Plan for the future
Many of us have more time on our hands now than we did before so why not take the time to tackle that marketing plan that you've been putting off or build a content strategy for your blog and social media platforms for the coming 6 months. Now is a great time to test out new online tools that might help you with this and get set up for when things open up again.
We've been helping many businesses like Garden Centres, Retail Shops and Food Businesses get online and make the best of this difficult situation. If you're looking to get online, we'd love to chat and see if we can help.
